TECMO SUPER BOWL 2026 ROSTER AND JERSEY-NUMBER CHANGES -- SET COMMAND LIST, week one edition ============================================================================ The companion to TSB2026_SET_COMMANDS.txt. That file holds the engine, rules and presentation hacks; this one holds the roster work done after the rosters were first laid in -- the men who changed team or slot, and the jersey numbers corrected against each club's own site. Every number here was matched on SURNAME AND FIRST NAME against the team's own roster page. A surname-only match was never allowed to propose a change; it could only ever confirm that a number was already right. Three loose matches were caught and pulled during the audit for exactly that reason. WHAT A RATING LINE MEANS Attribute nibbles step through the game's own sixteen values: 6 13 19 25 31 38 44 50 56 63 69 75 81 88 94 100 ============================================================================ JERSEY NUMBERS ============================================================================ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- twelve jersey numbers corrected against each team's own .com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- active roster (2026-09-10) Applies to NFL BASE-v2.1ap / VANILLA-v2.1ap / HARDTYPE-v2.2an. Jersey bytes only. Names, faces, attributes and sim values are untouched. Matched on SURNAME AND FIRST NAME against each team's own .com active roster. Jersey byte only. Name, face, attributes and sim values are untouched. ("number 16 -> 31") for this slot. Evidence: miamidolphins.com lists Michael Taaffe as S #16. SI/OnSI gives the reason for the change -- a tribute to Jackson Coker, who wore 16; the number came free when Mark Gronowski was released from the practice squad. 16 was verified free on Miami before the write (the build asserts it). The IPS is byte-identical across all three lines (). SET(0x00988,0x16) was 0x31 dolphins FS michaelTAAFFE #31 -> #16 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eagles WR3 Britain Covey #18 -> #85 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Applies to NFL BASE-v2.1as / VANILLA-v2.1as / HARDTYPE-v2.2aq. Jersey byte only. Name, face, attributes and sim values are untouched, and the KR/PR table stores a SLOT index, so Covey keeps the Eagles' PR job unchanged. WHY philadelphiaeagles.com lists him at 85 in two places -- the roster page and Payton is not in our 30 (Eagles QBs are Hurts #1 and McKee #16), so there is no knock-on. #85 was verified free on the Eagles before the write. PROVENANCE This is the ONE real finding out of the 29 "needs a look" men left over from the 2026-09-10 jersey-number audit. The other 28 all carry exactly the number the ROM already has -- they were simply on the practice squad, on IR on PUP or suspended, and so absent from the active-roster page the audit fetched. See NFL_NEEDS_A_LOOK_RESOLVED_2026-09-10. The IPS is byte-identical across all three lines (). SET(0x0217E,0x85) was 0x18 eagles WR3 britainCOVEY #18 -> #85 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- four jersey numbers, AFC East audit ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Applies to NFL BASE-v2.1at / VANILLA-v2.1at / HARDTYPE-v2.2ar. Jersey bytes only. Names, faces, attributes and sim values are untouched. WHY Bills, Dolphins, Patriots and Jets were the four teams the 2026-09-10 number audit did not cover. Audited against each team's own .com roster page reading EVERY section -- Active, PUP, Reserve/Injured, NFI, Suspended and Practice Squad -- and matched by surname AND first name. Each of the four findings was then confirmed a second time on the player's own page. All 32 teams are now audited. BILLS: all 30 numbers correct, nothing to change. Borregales at #8 is unusual for a kicker and was double-checked for that reason. patriots.com carries him as Andy Borregales / K / #8 on both pages he is also listed as Andres Borregales, same man. NOTE ON KACMAREK: this REVERSES the 2026-09-06 ruling recorded in WEEK1_UNEXAMINED_DECISIONS 19, which read "number 89 -> 82". Miami's own site now has him back at 89, on the roster page and his player page. Same situation as Taaffe -- the team's current page is the authority. Two same-number traps on the Dolphins page were handled correctly: #89 is worn by both Will Kacmarek (Active) and Ben Sims (Reserve/Injured), and #87 by both Cole Turner (IR) and Tre Watson (practice squad). A non-active man may duplicate an active number; the ACTIVE entry governs. The IPS is byte-identical across all three lines (). TSB Tool Supreme, 49ers, replace the NT line with: NT, kevin GIVENS, Face=0xb4, #90, 25, 31, 38, 44, 19, 31 ,[21, 15 ] (for reference, the line it replaces:) NT, alfred COLLINS, Face=0x9c, #95, 25, 31, 31, 50, 19, 44 ,[21, 15 ] WHY Alfred Collins tore his patellar tendon in practice days before the Melbourne opener and is out for the season (ESPN, NBC Sports Bay Area). #90 the 49ers' own roster lists Kevin Givens, DL, #90, and it is the number he wore as their NT in TSB 2022 v4.0. Verified free on the 49ers. face 0xb4 } read straight out of TSB 2022 v4.0 -- same team, same slot. 49ers' defensive columns at 255 / 255. Noted before the build and ruled in anyway: Givens is on the 49ers' practice squad, not the active roster. RAW BYTES, if you would rather patch than retype the line (0x03D21 is already 0x43 -- rush power / rush speed do not change) The name and number are NOT a byte patch here. The 49ers live in the 4-team expansion name pool, whose four pointer arrays overlap -- each team's terminator is physically the next team's first pointer -- so a shorter name repacks the whole pool. "kevinGIVENS" is 2 bytes shorter than "alfredCOLLINS", the pool ends 2 bytes earlier at 0x3FF6D, and those 2 bytes are filled 0xFF. 1278 bytes in 119 runs. That is exactly what TSBTool does for you on save, which is why the line above is the way to apply it. Nothing else moved: every other name, number, face, attribute record and sim block in all 32 teams is byte-identical, and the code at 0x3FF95 is untouched. He is not injured and he is not out for the year, and this is a best-case-scenario build -- the person playing the game should get to use a team's best players where the file can carry them. He goes in behind the three backs who can play. Name, number, face, attribute line AND sim values all come from the Preseason Edition's own packers RB1 record, read out of that ROM rather than retyped. The sim line travels with the man here, which is the exception to the 2026-09-08 rule that a replacement takes the SLOT's sim. It is safe at RB4 because the 32-target sum is taken across RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2 and TE1 only so nothing had to be rebalanced. Every team's target sum is still 32 and every defensive column is still 255 / 255. RAW BYTES, if you would rather patch than retype the line The name and number are NOT a byte patch. "joshJACOBS" is 2 bytes shorter than "kalebJOHNSON", and in the 28-team name pool a record's end is the next player's pointer, so a shorter name repacks the pool and rewrites every pointer behind it -- 2,298 bytes in 216 runs. That is exactly what TSBTool does for you on save, which is why the line above is the way to apply it.
